Can anyone tell me why I keep getting file transfer failures that say "502 PASV is not implemented"? It happens when I transfer MP3 and MPGs, and then only on some of then.

Re: Flash fxp

I have just noticed that all the files that failed either have very long filenames or a ' or ( ) in the name. Is there a way around this other than renaming 400 files?!

"502 PASV is not implemented" - I get that all the time, but it doesn't seem to affect anything, I can transfer files back and forth, delete, rename, make new directories.. so I didn't look up what it actually meant.

As for very long file names.. I'm afraid you're going to have to rename your 400 files.. It's a limitation of the FATX file system. :yeuch: You could probably write some sort of script (I'm not talking XBMC or anything.. like a batch file..) to automate the process.

Good luck!

PS- upon re-looking at your post, you say you're getting file transfer *failures* with that text?

Yup, get the 502 msg and then at the end get a final saying x number of files not transferred. I've tried renaming a couple of the failed files and they then do transfer!

Re: Flash fxp

PASV stands for passiv-mode (i presume, never looked it up tho)
The xbox does not support this mode and tehre for you get this "errormessage", which is more like a warning and does not affect the transfer itself.

to make files fatx compatible i suggest to use baRenameX, which is a very good tool to rename complete folders.

Get it at

That looks ideal, thing is; do you know where I can get a compiled version!?!? Tried the usual place, doesn't seem to be there!

Grab "Xbox PC Essentials v2.0", the torrent for which is on this site. One of the programs it contains is baRenameX.

Cheers,

Wait a minute.. are we both retards? Melt posted a link to the program (compiled) in his reply.

Re: Flash fxp

i know this is a old topic, but there is an easier way to go about this. There is already a complied program that will rename and ftp music to ur xbox without you having to do much. if i remember correctly it is called Virtual Xbox ripper or something i know it has virtual in it. You can probaly get this in the "usual" place.
