Hey Minime, try downloading dvd2daph 3.0 from: http://www.laserarchive.com/dvd2daph/
Unzip it and get ace_dvdrom.txt from the tools folder and use it as your framefile, it will probably fix your Space Ace freezing problem, it will also allow you to play Space Ace Enhanced without it freezing up too, but you will need the SAE roms from Dragons Lair Project Website.

The statistics for the seeds doesn't seem to be right. Probably because the tracker periodically disconnects anyone who isn't logged into the site, especially if their IP address changes. (e.g. anyone with dynamic DSL or cable, or dialup) Can someone re-seed this? I don't see anyone who has 100% of this file.

My space ace stops working after the ship flight as dexster lands, no video output, but roms are still running?

What do you need to play the mv2 files on the PC? Will this emulator play on the PC or does it need the laser disc or can I use my PC's DVD player?

I'd be seed a torrent of just the mpegs for Daphne of Dragons Lair alone (900 megs) if you guys would like a smaller torrent. You are on your own as far as making a DVD for your xbox though, I don't own one.

I myself am also DESPERATELY looking for Dragons Lair 2 - Time Warp mpegs in one torrent. That's the main reason I'm here. If there is no reply to this I will go ahead and seed the mpegs if I see Time Warp up here.

Why is it that only 1 or 0 seeds connect despite there showing 14 seeds and 3 peers?

You have to run this on a modded xbox. I burned the iso with nero and it played fine on mine.

These Mpegs WILL and DO work for the PC version of Daphne!!! Read down this list of posts, all the info you need to make it work is there. Read the posts left by people who seem to know what they are talking about and you will probably get it! This .iso is set up for the Xbox, but the mpegs themselves can be used with the pc version of Daphne. CXbox Tool should be used to extract this iso image on your pc. Where to get cxbox tool is listed in someone elses post BELOW! Where to find the PC version of Daphne and ROMs can be found there also!

domidayv - This is for the Xbox - Once you burn the Image to a DVD just pop the DVD in your xbox and it'll run fine. From what I understand and noticed this cannot be read on a PC. You'll need a tool which i believe is cxbox to extract everything from the ISO image file.

ummmmmmmmmmm....I need help! i DLed the DaphneX and the mpes from the torrent. only (AFTER 5 !#@!%! DAYS LATER)it said the file was corupt or incompleat. if fact,it was empty. 4 gigs of emptyness. After playing all 4 versions all the way through, I noticed the differences. There really are quite a few, in fact. Lots of scenes, including the drawbridge scene in DL, are available here. Great games! Still need that DL2, anyone wanna up a torrent?

The ENHANCED versions use all the video footage that is on the laser discs, where the original versions ommited some scenes.. It's true! There are quite a few differences really...

The enhanced version of Dragon's Lair has a more logical progression of scenes throughout the castle. Read more at:

Sorry, Dragon's Lair II and Thayer's Quest are two games that they DON'T have (I just checked, sorry about the disinformation). I just ordered 10 DVDs from a burning service in the U.K. that will include absolutely every Daphne Mpeg available. I would seed some of it, but I'm on dial-up... It took me five weeks to download THIS torrent, so I don't feel sorry that it takes you 3-4 days. I can't get high-speed where I am. I'm looking into 2-way satellite high speed. If anyone still has problems getting these games working, post a message here, and I'll see if I can help you out.

Just look for the Daphne section. Huge file though >25GB. Though with some torrent clients you can choose which files within the torrent to download. I do believe Dragon's Lair II and Thayer's Quest is among them...

Itablok, if you read all the messages posted on this page, you would see that this .iso file was created with the tool CXbox, which can also be used to extract it. These games do work 100% on my PC, it just took some figuring out as to where to put the folders. You will alsoneed the PC version of Daphne. Preserve the file structure after extracting Daphne, and put the framefiles (which are .txt files) in the FRAMEFILES folder. Also put the mpeg folder in the FRAMEFILES folder. So the Space Ace .m2v, .ogg, and .dat files in the ACE folder should be in the MPEG folder, which should go in the FRAMEFILES folder where ace.txt is which should have .\mpeg\ace on the first line of the ace.txt framefile... Run DaphneLoader and use ".\FRAMEFILES\ace.txt" to configure the Virtual LDP(MPEG/Ogg)framefile location. Do the same thing for all the games. I hope that makes sense to everyone, it is working for me anyways, I even burned a DVD of the contents of the Daphne folder and can play the games right from it.

Hi I've downloaded the file and when I click on it ("DaphneX_96.iso") I get an error msg saying the file might be corrupted or the format is uknown. Moreover the size of the file is 4286 MB instead of 4186 MB. What am I doing wrong why can't I just open this compressed file? Thx for your help :]

There are better framefiles available for SA and DL, Especially SA, that will allow you to play DLE and SAE (Space Ace Enhanced). SAE doesn't work with the old framefile inluded in this torrent. Download DVD2Daph and look in the TOOLS folder - Use "ace_dvdrom.txt" and "lair_dvdrom.txt" as your framefiles.

To get this working for Windows XP :

1.You need to put the framefiles in the
respective MPEG directories for each
game to keep things simple.

2.Edit the framefile so that it only has
a . on the first line (delete the rest of the path as necessary)

3.Video worked but I then got a sound file not found error.

The solution is to copy the sound effects directory (Daphne/sound) over from Daphne v0.99.7 to the sound dir from this iso (overwrite the earlier version) and bob's your dingbat :).

Was a pain in the ass figuring that last one out !!!

I am trying to get the iso to work with the windows version (Daphne version 99.7).

Cliff Hanger seems to work fine but Space Ace and Dragons Lair just runs through the mpegs.

The following is my log file for Space Ace. The log file for Dragons Lair has a similar error. Anyone know how to fix. I copied the frame file to the same directory as the mpegs.

First Time using bittorrent.. I have 0(14) Seeds and 0(8)Peers sometimes I get a -Connection Error(invalid reply with a bunch of garbage and sometimes it comes back as OK(dht:) Is this normal? or did I do something wrong? A helpful response would be much appreciated. :)

I'm new to this Daphne stuff and I downloaded their latest version and am in the midst of downloading this Dragon's Lair, SPace Ace and Cliff Hanger iso torrent. What are the steps I need to do to get this up and running once the torrent completes downloading? Is it all about extracting mpegs to my hard drive or do your burn the iso to a DVD and play them from there? I have an external Pioneer DVD burner/player.

I am having a similar problem as Rob. I've finished downloading the file, and I tried to look at the files with an iso utility but I saw nothing. I am hesitant to waste a DVD burning it only to end up with a coaster, but they're only 50 cents each, so I might as well go ahead. Does anyone else know what's wrong with our files?

Thank you happymaan..after downloading the xbox pc esentialls under the "apps pc" section,which had the CXBOX tool that you mentioned in an earlier post, I was a few clicks away from changing the frame file dir and using these hard to find laser games on the daphne pc emulator. I have been searching for Dragons lair and Space ace for about a year. Only found a DVDvideo version of Dragons lair but it lacks the random scene play and nestalgia. If you enjoy these old laser disk arcade games I found that Pet1field torrent tracker (full.pleasuredom.org.uk) has all the other mpegs that Daphne supports like Thyers quest, SuperdonQuixote, Bega's Battle.etc. I am sure that they would love to have your SpaceAce and Dragon's lair...it is the only ones that they don't have posted.

i downloaded it to my hard drive usin azureus and tried to burn it onto a disc using roxio and nero but when i go to the disc i get a blank cd the file are on there but i cant see them or do anything with it
am i doing something wrong???

right now its extracting all the files to a folder named Daphne , which i assume i can use the daphne emulator i downloaded or maybe that cxbox will work also, dunno yet im new to all this, ill find out.

Hi cheeksterr, what file system do you using: FAT32 or NTFS.
When you are using FAT32 do you dont downloading this file.
You must have NTFS for downloading.

Just so you know, this iso does work for the xbox.....I have no idea why some of you are having problems. Simply burn this to a disc, place that disc in your xbox, turn your modded xbox on, and you can then play dragons lair, space ace, and cliff hanger.

This has the ROMS, and MPEGS for those games, and the correctly formatted framefiles.

THIS DISC WORKS AND THERE IS NOTHING ELSE YOU NEED.

mmhh... no roms and not working even w/ roms added. Something bad w/ sound initialization...

If you want to open on an xbox iso on your PC, I suggest you try out the program CXbox Tool, at http://www.cxboxtool.xbox-hq.com/

Also, by the way...the mpegs and frame files within this ISO can be extracted and used for the PC version of Daphne.

I think that XBox ISO's are different than PC ISO's. If you burn it to a DVD and then place it in the XBox DVD player you can copy it over and it will work.

I started with space ace and I click and then there is a pause etc.

When it was in the arcades I never played it because it was $1.00 and everything else was a quarter.

Nevermind, I found my own answer:

If you use Xdisc or xiso on OS X, the image is OK.
The built-in tools and Toast choke on the iso
unless the above utilities are used first.

What do you use to process the iso? OS X tools
